Community · On the road
We packed our bags, loaded up an honestly ridiculous amount of protein, and headed to Atlanta for Once Upon a Meetup. If you have never been to one, picture this: a room full of people from the GLP-1 community who usually only know each other through comment sections and DMs, finally hugging in real life.
Spoiler: there were happy tears. There were also snacks. We made sure of that part.
Here is a little taste of the day:
@coladernis The Once Upon a Meetup in Atlanta was one of the best experiences. This community shows up for each other.
Why we showed up
Sponsoring this meetup was an easy yes for us. The GLP-1 community shows up for each other every single day online. Wins, hard weeks, protein hacks, honest answers to the questions your doctor visit was too short for. Getting to be in the room for the in-person version of that is, hands down, the best part of this job.
We brought Biocare shakes and snacks for everyone, and then we did the thing we love most: we listened. We heard stories about first goals hit, about muscle and strength becoming the new focus, about friendships that started in a comment section and turned into the real thing. If you have ever wondered whether the people behind those usernames are as kind in person, the answer is yes. Kinder, actually.
One room full of people who just get it. That is the whole stat. That is the point.
The people who made it
Huge thank you to the Once Upon a Meetup crew for building something this special, and to the creators and friends who make this community what it is, including Kee, Mike on a Mission, Trae, Jackson, Amanda Bonello, and A Shot of Chris. Seeing besties and meeting new faces in real life was a reminder that this community does not just talk about showing up for each other. It actually does.
Atlanta, thank you for the hugs, the laughs, and the reminder of why we do this. We cannot wait for the next one.
